PLUSNet 2007 Description:
PLUSNet 2007 (PN07) was sponsored by the Office of Naval Research (ONR) and conducted on the acoustic range at Dabob Bay Washington under the cognizance of the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC), Keyport, Washington. PN07 participants included Massachussets Institute of Technology (MIT), University of Washington's Applied Physics Laboratory (APLUW), Bluefin Robotics and Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute (WHOI).
ANT participated in PN07 and focused operations in the southern part of Dabob Bay. ANT brought two of their acoustic littoral gliders to the event, LG01 and LG02. The main objectives for ANT at PN07 were the continued development of glider survivability behaviors, ambient noise telemetry, proving the endurance and performance of the ANT littoral glider (LG) and to demonstrate their adaptive narrowband detector's ability to initiate glider survivability behaviors on the unmanned underwater vehicle (UUV).
ANT's littoral gliders operated for 9 consecutive days during the PLUSNet excercise and successfully completed all objectives.
ANT performed at PN07 with the following equipment:
- LG01 & LG02 (ANT littoral gliders)
- Wilcoxon acoustic vector sensor
- 58 foot research vessel R/V Montague
